I primarily teach courses in Spanish phonetics and phonology, both at the undergraduate and graduate levels. My teaching emphasizes the connection between linguistic theory and real-world language use, and I aim to create inclusive, engaging classroom environments that support student inquiry and development.
Beyond the classroom, I co-direct PhonoGroup, a weekly phonology lab jointly run with colleagues in Linguistics (Dr. Scott Borgeson, Dr. Karthik Durvasula and Dr. Yen-Hwei Lin), which brings together graduate students and faculty for discussion of ongoing research in phonology and phonetics. I also mentor undergraduate students through the College of Arts and Letters’ Undergraduate Research Initiative (CAL-URI), supporting their development as independent researchers.
