I’ll be giving a talk at the Instituto de Lingüística, Universidad de Buenos Aires, and while I won’t be there in person this time, it still feels like a homecoming.
The topic takes me back to where I started: I’ll be presenting new data on the perception of the palatal nasal and nasal-plus-glide sequences, the very subject I began publishing on early in my career.
In this talk, I’ll share results from new perception protocols designed to probe how listeners distinguish (or fail to distinguish) these two structures, and what that tells us about their phonological representation.
