Coming Home to Talk About Sounds: A Talk at UBA's Instituto de Lingüística

I’m delighted to share that I’ll be giving a talk at the Instituto de Lingüística, Universidad de Buenos Aires — a homecoming in more ways than one.

It’s a homecoming because I’m coming back to Buenos Aires to give the talk in person. But it’s also a homecoming in terms of topic: I’ll be presenting new data on the perception of the palatal nasal and nasal-plus-glide sequence: the very subject I started publishing on early in my career.

In this talk, I’ll share results from new perception protocols designed to probe how listeners distinguish (or fail to distinguish) these two structures, and what that tells us about their phonological representation.

If you’re in Buenos Aires, I’d love to see you there.

When: September 2, 5:00 PM Where: Instituto de Lingüística, Universidad de Buenos Aires
